New Jersey STATE Winner in Arbor Day Poster Contest ANNOUNCED
Sasha Fung-Wiener, a fifth grade student from Robinson Elementary School in Hamilton Township has been named the New Jersey state winner in the 2000 Arbor Day National Poster Contest. The contest is sponsored by Delta Education, Assistance & Resources Integrating Science Education and the Council of Elementary Science - NJ.
Judging took place at the 12th Annual Council of Elementary Science - New Jersey, CES-NJ, Conference at Mercer County Community College on Wednesday, March 15. The winning poster illustrates this year’s theme, Trees are Terrific...In All Shapes and Sizes! The poster may be viewed at
http://www.edusite.comMiss Fung-Wiener will receive a $100 US savings bond from the Council of Elementary Science - NJ. Her teacher, Ms. A. Gruska, will receive the FOSS, Full Option Science System, Environments Module compliments of Delta Education (suppliers of materials for science education) valued at $399.00.
The poster will continue on to the national competition sponsored by Keebler Company and The National Arbor Day Foundation. The national winner will be announced on April 28.
