Nina Visconti-Phillips is a Science Education
Consultant based in Cranbury, NJ. She
provides customized professional development programs and
consulting services which focus on science content &
process skills, integration of curriculum, methods of teaching and resource utilization. As an independent contractor, she has served colleges, individual districts, and organizations as a mentor and instructor. She has developed and implemented many, varied continuing education opportunities from a session for early childhood educators at in Cranbury to a science process skills workshop for HS teachers at Kean. As the Regional Coordinator for the Clean Air Challenge, she coordinated workshops for middle and high school level educators in NJ, PA and CA. Nina has been an adjunct [K-8 science methods] professor at the College of New Jersey (undergraduate) and Kean University (graduate level) and has also assisted with many educational technology initiatives. Nina has taught at the elementary, middle and high school levels and was the science department chair at a high school for at-risk youth in MD during the implementation of the Maryland School Performance Assessment Program. She is certified to teach in NJ and MD. |
Mrs. Visconti-Phillips finds her diverse range of classroom
teaching experience helpful in meeting the needs of the educators
and administrators she works with.
She has earned degrees from Montclair
State University, Felician College, and Hood College in MD (science
education). She has earned master teacher status from the National Aquarium in Baltimore in their supplemental curriculum, Living in Water and she was the team leader for Operation Chemistry (American Chemical Society & NSF) in NJ. As a consultant it is often necessary and desirable for her to collaborate with other dedicated professional development providers in order to meet the needs of the educators and administrators she serves. |

Past / present volunteer involvement: Nina has developed and facilitated professional development opportunities with a focus on science at conferences for educators of elementary education, high school science, mathematics, gifted and talented, and technology education and is listed as a New Jersey Department of Education Professional Development Provider
